This is a bit of a combination of things so, don't groan, but bear with me...
Do you like bears? I do. Real ones at a long distance, soft ones at quite close quarters!
Having declared this the year of the needle I have completed only two of the tapestry/cross stitch kits that I had planned to make, but I have done lots of other stitching this year in many different ways.
Combining bears and stitching seemed like a great combination!
Time to dig out another of the Mollie Makes kits that I had tucked away. This bear was designed by a Canadian Company called kirikipress.com, I have no connection with them, but I did go and look at their website and they have some other lovely things.
So rather than make a little toy bear, I made a pretty picture to add to my collection of hoop art. This little bear was a delight to make. There was an interesting variety of stitches, the blank design is printed onto the canvas fabric making it very easy to follow and work up. I now have another lovely picture another kit made up and another stitching project completed!
This bear is very lucky indeed because I made him up and because he gets to be something a bit more unusual than just another stuffed toy!
Do you make up any of the kits that you get on magazines or do they just sit and languish? Do you make them as the instructions tell you to or do you go off piste and do you own thing?
This is one of the posts that I wrote in August to be published in September but publishing it got delayed by my need to take a blog break.
